Nebraska and Colorado Beauty // Travels

Milky Way sightings up ahead!

This was the first time I (Jennifer) ever saw so many stars. To see the Milky Way was somewhat unreal. When your eyes are beginning to adjust, it seems as if there's some kind of foggy stripe going across the sky. After looking more intently, you can begin to see individual stars. AMAZING.

Amazing Colorado Scenery and Intense Elk Rutting // Travels

We have a new personal rule: We are not allowed to travel to beautiful places without booking a photo shoot. Next time, we'll let people know our travel dates! Jon captured some KILLER landscape photos (this post is just part 1), and we'd love to meet new people and photograph them in places like these.

Colorado is such a  beautiful frontier! We LOVED exploring Colorado together! My birthday is at the end of October, and Jon had been mentioning that he wanted to take me on a trip for my birthday. Like any traveler-adventurer-explorer-the-best-deal-finder-husband, Jon found incredible prices on Frontier flights to Colorado for $85 (round trip, direct flight). YES, PLEASE.

Our Wedding Video // Jon+Jennifer

Pumpkin pie, sweet potato casserole, green been casserole, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, hot rolls, apple pie, chocolate pecan pie, ice-cream, oh, I almost forgot, Turkey and Ham! Thursday was a GOOD DAY!

In all seriousness, Thanksgiving has us very grateful this year as this is our first as a married couple. Time has gone by fast, but God has been incredibly busy in our lives.

Our Proposal Story // Jon+Jennifer

What would I say? How would I feel? What on earth would I do? Or how would I really respond in the moment?

Those were the questions that occasionally flooded my mind over the past 10 years. I mean that in all seriousness! My only dream, desire, and aspiration was to be a wife and a mother. Like many other girls, I would sometimes imagine what those moments would be like. THE PROPOSAL.

Charleston Adventures on a Budget

Charleston and our detours on the way were so pretty we just had to share out photos and tell about our first weekend trip as a married couple! First off, we highly recommend that newly married couples get away for a weekend. So refreshing and fun. And stay within your budget. We've included some tips on how we saved on costs, and we hope you find them helpful!

Jon & Jennifer // WEDDING PHOTOS! // Part 2

And here is Part 2 of our wedding photos by Erica Serrano Photography!

It was around 53 degrees that day, and the entire week before had been in the 80's. We'd prefer cooler over super hot, but we definitely expected to have warmer weather on our wedding day! Praise the Lord - it didn't rain until after we left the reception!

During the Ceremony, we girls were shaking from shivers. I could hear my sisters behind me shivering and trying not to laugh! You know how your breathing changes to rapid, shaking breaths when you're really cold?

Jon & Jennifer // WEDDING PHOTOS! // Part 1

We are SO excited to share OUR VERY OWN wedding photos with you all! Erica Berry [Erica Serrano Photography] was our fabulous photographer. We haven't posted our engagement photos, but maybe we'll do that later. :) We decided to break it up into two parts since we want to share so many images with you! This post will include photos all the way to the end of the Ceremony. Part 2 will include the portraits, and the reception!

Courvillage Honeymoon - Part 4 // West Fork Trail, An Injury, & A Helicopter Ride

Friday on our honeymoon! We expected this day to be a bit more leisurely as we planned a much easier hike than Cathedral Rock. This hike is about 20 minutes or so outside of Sedona, Arizona. Driving on 89A [goes from Flagstaff to Sedona], you'll be sure to see some spectacular views. Big cliffs, red rocks, monstrous trees, curving roads, cacti, and running water paint such a beautiful part of Arizona.

Courvillage Honeymoon - Part 2 // Grand Canyon

Wednesday.

We got up early, packed a lunch, and hit the road to visit the Grand Canyon! From Sedona, we drove through Flagstaff [which is about halfway]. We stopped off in a couples stores looking for a down jacket for Jennifer since it was pretty chilly and windy. We finally found one of clearance at an outdoor store!

For the last hour of driving, we drove through a lot of Indian reservations.

Courvillage Honeymoon - Part 1 // Cathedral Rock

And here we go!

Part 1 of our honeymoon to Arizona! We flew out of the Charlotte Douglas Airport on Monday morning [we married on Sunday]. We had a quick layover in Phoenix before our last [and very fast] flight to Flagstaff, Arizona. The weather was beautiful for flying! However, American Airlines does not give snacks during their 5 hour flights [American is the only airline that flies through Flagstaff]. Naturally, we were pretty hungry and recommend that you bring snacks on these flights.

An Open Letter From Your Wife of 18 Days

Jon. Being married to you has been the most wonderful gift that God has given me. Through you, God has answered an abundance of my prayers. In our personal vows to each other a couple of weeks ago, I shared who God has made you to be. Because remembering them is important, I wanted to re-share them here for all to see as we celebrate you today on your birthday.
