Jenna, UNC Charlotte // Senior
A big shout out to Jenna, a senior at UNC Charlotte, who is graduating this May with a degree in Piano Performance and a minor in Children's Literature! If you've been following us for a while, you'll know that I (Jennifer) and my siblings attended UNCC, and we all studied music as a minor. It was special to be back on campus for her senior shoot, and to attend her senior recital!
Since Jenna is minoring in Children's Literature, her musical selections all had a story to tell as she studied the connection between music and children's literature. This made for a very enjoyable and engaging recital!
Jenna and I have worked at the same music school in the past, and she has saved me with her incredible piano playing more than one time! During recital week, the teachers accompany their students. Since I teach the cello at that music school, I would often accompany them on the piano. Until they began playing concertos and Vivaldi Sonatas. I practiced the piano parts but knew that a more advanced pianist would do a better job (not to mention that I was nervous for my students - what if I messed them up?!). Jenna to the rescue! She basically SIGHT READ the music (I gave the music to her before the students arrived to the recital...). For those of you who aren't musicians, that means that I put the music in front of her, and she played it beautifully the first time through. *cue the angels singing* Thank you, Jenna, for helping a fellow teacher out! :)
Congratulations on finishing your musical studies strong! Next up, graduation! :)

And for those of you wondering, her adorable dress is from Anthropologie in South Park Mall! Loved how the colors popped. Go buy yourself one.
