Summer in the USA
Happy 4th of July, folks!
Jon asked me to guest post today, and I happily agreed! For those of you who might not know me, I'm Jennifer - Jon's assistant and best friend. :)
Last year, Jon and I took my sister, Marianna, to an open field close to Wesley Chapel and took some patriotic photos. We had such a grand time, and we came out with some amazing images. This year, we wanted to go back to the same spot. However, two things were different: 1) we took my other sister, Missy, since Marianna was away at camp 2) there were crops growing in the field.
We had to change our plans a little bit, so we drove around looking for a new spot. Jon spotted a corn field with a large opening. Both Missy and I missed it, but thankfully Jon saw it! We turned around and parked on the side of the road
Some of you may be thinking, "Is it legal to pull up and walk around in a random corn field?"
Believe me, I asked Jon the same question. There were no trespassing signs. And we later made three new friends. One was named Sammy [a beautiful German Shepherd] and the two others were a kind policeman and policewoman who checked on us to make sure all was well [since they saw the car parked on the side of the road]. They said as long as we weren't in the corn, we were welcome to take pictures! We're hoping to go back to that location again sometime. :)
The humidity was INCREDIBLE. We were drenched in sweat. This new location stretched our creativity and we had a blast.
A storm began to blow in, which thankfully dropped the temperatures and brought a breeze.
I've always wanted to take pictures with a floral crown. I looked up YouTube tutorials, only to find I didn't have any of the right supplies. Not a problem! Here is what I used:
- Pipe cleaners
- Duct tape
- Ferns, roses, leaves [all donations from a food pickup ministry]
- Twine to cover some tape and pipe cleaners
Ladies: you can do it!
Hey! Jon here! Thank you Jennifer for the guest post! We had a grand time in the corn field, and I can't wait for our next photo adventure! Enjoy the patriotic weekend, everyone!
